Netflix's big Move

I think Netflix just made itself a tv channel.
Vulture said that Netflix bought Kevin Spacey's new show.
Netflix beat out HBO and AMC.
The coolest part of this is the possibility of being able to pick individual cable channels.
Instead of a package that has plenty nobody is watching.
What five channels would you pick?
I'd go with FX, ESPN, Spike, HBO, and E!

Also, did y'all hear "Seann William Scott has voluntarily admitted himself for proactive treatment to address health and personal issues," as said by his rep. I like him; "Dude, where's my car?" Hope he gets better soon.

  1. that is crazy. the major networks/corporations like disney & viacom have been resisting the pay-per-channel thing for EVER, because selling packages full of useless stuff (like the golf network or whatever) is what makes them $$. but it would be AMAZING for the consumer. (my comm. degree is useful at times like these. horray!)

my picks would be: food network, travel channel, bravo, HBO, comedy central. maybes AMC, but i really only want that for mad men.

  2. I know it. I would love to be able to pick a top five or 10 or 15 anything else other than having a hundred channels.

  3. Netflix buying that show has redefined media buyouts and television/film industry forever in ways we might not comprehend for awhile. I've read alot about it, and IT IS HUGE.

By the by, Spacey's new show is called "House of Cards", it's a miniseries, remake of a British Show, and its gonna be directed by David Fincher (of The Social Network, Se7en, Fight Club). Really jazzed for that.
