Channing Tatum Dirty Dancing
Shout Out to GQ. Today after I had finished ripping out all of the double sided ads in the latest issue of GQ I was reading about Channing Tatum and they mentioned a Dirty Dancing Short he was in and how it was hilarious. I immediately put down The Magazine and went to The Internet, their worst fear I think, and found out that YES in fact the Channing Tatum Dirty Dancing short is hilarious. Far warning, I love Dirty Dancing and have seen it a bunch and that is definitely a big part of why I think this is HILARIOUS. GQ!

The Great Gatsby Trailer
The best thing about summer movies, other than the movie themselves, are the previews before summer movies. So I apologize for the onslaught of trailers flooding EdZachery, but I can't keep this to myself. And I'd like to be able to easily watch it daily.
Please enjoy the triumphant return of genius Baz Luhrman and dreamboat-y Leonardo DiCaprio.

On The Road
I did not like On The Road when I read it. I think On The Road will be a much better movie than a book. Luckily The Movie is coming out later this year. The Preview is promising.

Nat'l Anthem Love
Ever since Whitney died the Star Spangled Banner has been getting some serious love. When Whitney sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in 1991 she definitively laid down the best vocal rendition of the National Anthem that has ever been heard and ever will be. Whitney sang the shit out of the song and made it seem easy. Seeing as to how Whitney totally owns the song vocally I wanted to see if I could find any other mind-blowing different and awesome renditions. I couldn't. The image of Whitney slaying every note was too much to overcome. Without further ado here is the Queen of America herself singing the song everyone has sung, only better.
And for something entirely different here is an acoustic version I also like.

My Favorite Poem
'Nothing Gold Can Stay' by Robert Frost is my favorite poem.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing Gold can stay.
In The Outsiders when Johhny and Ponyboy are looking at the sunrise out the back of the church they ran off too and Johnny says the mist is gold and silver and says that he wishes it could stay that way forever then Ponybody hits him with a "Nothing Gold can stay" and Johnny is like 'whats that?' then Ponyboy drops the whole poem on him to which Johnny replies "Thats what I meant", probably my favorite page of literature ever. I love that 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' so fucking beautifully can relate that even though you wish things could stay like this forever they can't.
AND this poem rhymes, no slant rhyme or maybe that rhymes, Eight lines Four couplets. And more then rhyming it rolls off the tongue if you recite it. I fucking love this poem, its my favorite.
What's your favorite poem?

How I Feel About Kid Rock
I like Kid Rock. You like Kid Rock. Because everyone likes Kid Rock. Because of the song "Picture". Everyone likes the song "Picture" by Kid Rock featuring Sheryl Crow. If you do not like the song "Picture" it is because you have not heard the song "Picture" by Kid Rock featuring Sheryl Crow. And if thats the case watch the video right down there. Otherwise I like his version of Feel Like Makin' Love better. "All Summer Long" is maybe the most listen-to-able song ever. "Born Free" is a good song. On the first episode of The Sheild when Vic shoots that guy and "Bawitdaba" is playing it was definately the most intense television I had seen at that point. Because of Kid Rock. I like Kid Rock. And so do you, probably, if not watch this video of "Picture" by Kid Rock featuring Sheryl Crow.

The Twinkie Defense
After Dan White assassinated Harvey Milk on November 27, 1978 his Lawyers successfully used "The Twinkie Defense" to get Dan White out of jail in a little more than five years.
Dan White's Lawyers explained to The Jurors that the night before The Murders (Dan White also killed the San Fransisco mayor in the same spree that left Harvey Milk dead) Dan White had ate a Large Amount of Twinkies. Because, The Lawyers explained, Dan White usually kept an extremely healthy diet the Large Amount of Twinkies had diminished his capacity. That is The Twinkie Defense. Eat too many Twinkies and kill two people.

JFK Death Day
I know very little about JFK and have done no additional research
Today is probably the 48th anniversary of what definitely is the day that John Fitzgerald Kennedy who was probably our 33rd President was shot in Dallas. Jackie O was definitely in the car which was a convertible. Either her dress was pink and the car was 50s blue or versa vice. Harvey Lee Oswald probably didnt act alone in the shooting of JFK.
Other than the shooting: JFK was sickly in some way. JFK was a babe magnet who didnt wear a hat to his innaugeration. The K family made their money in the depression by either selling oil or coal. JFK had an older brother who was being groomed to do all the stuff JFK did then the brother died in WW2. JFK asked what we could do for the country. JFK is on the Half Dollar Coin.

Dude-Bros Getting Scared
Those of us in the East may have had part or all of our Halloween festivities cancelled due to that totally unexpected and super abnormal snowstorm last week. I've been hearing some resentment from the injured parties, so please allow me to cheer you up with these amazing pictures of dudes in a haunted house getting the bro scared out of them.
The rest of this awesome collection is here. The dudes flying solo in the haunted house were too sad for me to post. But they are hilarious.

Starbucks creates jobs, not just baristas
The chairman of Starbucks wants to support job creations. Not by opening more stores and paying college grads minimum wage to make foam, but by supporting small businesses. But how? With a pretty good plan in my humble opinion. It's called Create Jobs for USA
Americans themselves can start lending to small businesses, with Starbucks serving as the middleman. Starbucks partners with Community Development Financial Institutions, or CDFIs who are under the radar lenders, mostly non-profits with very low loan defaults. These lenders specialize in expending credit, getting paid back, and paying back investors. In other words, they are not giant loan assholes who want to ruin your life forever and never take their claws out of you.
Starbucks customers can donate money to the effort when they buy coffee. Those who give $5 or more will get a red-white-and-blue wristband. The tag line will read: "Americans Helping Americans."
The best part is that the donations aren't loaned out, but turned into equity that can be leveraged at a 7 to 1 rate. So five dollars is worth 35 dollars going to the small businesses. And Starbucks is kicking it off with a five million dollar donation.
The program starts November 1st, so after a weekend of Halloween-ing, head over and donate some change. You may be funding a totally awesome sandwich shop run by your best friends who will name a sandwich after you.

Where Were You?
I was in Mr Carpenter's math class. And after the initial loudspeaker announcement we really didn't talk about it anymore, so I absolutely did not understand what was going on, until later in Ms. Gutteridge's gym class and that was probably when I heard about the Pentagon and the other plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Then after lunch there were enough TVs on that you could be watching the news. And then we went home and watched the news. It was definitely a little scary. I remember that KISS 108 didnt play any music that day just more news.

Spotify is the Tits.
I know I haven't posted any #SummerJams in a while, but that's about to change.
Imagine if iTunes and Pandora fucked and made a digital-music-streaming baby, which made it super easy to listen to almost any song or album by almost every artist you can think of, in a matter of seconds, any time you want, FOR FREE. Wouldn't that be awesome?
Well they totally did it. Spotify has been blowing up all over Europe for the past few years, and now it's available in the US. If you don't have it yet, all you have to do go HERE, request an invite (which they send you basically immediately), and download the free version.
It will sync with your iTunes, making all of your current music library available while you're using it, and you will be able to search for whatever the hell you want to listen to at any given moment, stream it instantly, and create playlists with it. You can access your Spotify account (and playlists!) from any computer that has the program installed (and since it's free, that pretty much means any computer).
There's also a version for $10/month that lets you access your playlists when your offline and, more importantly, on your mobile device. I don't have the premium version yet, but if I ever get an iPhone, I will definitely upgrade.
The cherry on top? You can sync to Facebook and share playlists. As in, your friends will be able to see/access your playlists, you will be able to check out theirs, and you can collaborate on joint playlists.
So go get it. To make it worth your while, I'll try to post more music recommendations over the next few days, which you'll be able to check out freely and easily now!

The OTIS video explained
When Jay-Z and Kanye met up to discuss the OTIS video, it went like this:
Jay-Z: I think we should get a flag.
Kanye: Lets get the biggest flag ever and wear white shirts. Maybe sometimes I'll wear red pants.
Jay-Z: I think Aziz Ansari is funny.
Kanye: Lets get Aziz and put him in a blue suit. But not let him talk. He'll be like our bitch.
Jay-Z: Lets make the car a Maybach.
Kanye: Lets start the video with us cutting a Maybach apart and then driving around a cool Thunderdome version of a Maybach.
Jay-Z: Lets get Beyonce , my wife, in it.
Kanye: Lets get four white girls and put them in green in the backseat.
Jay-Z: ...
Kanye: And the best part will be when I say "I write my curses in cursive."
Jay-Z: You get me.
Secret bff handshake
Or something like that.
